Description: Regional arterial street network derived from the street network for the Metro region. Each arterial street segment has street name and type as attributes. Streets are categorized by type for cartographic purposes. These arterials are derived from the street layer mainly for cartographic purposes. There may be additional arterials not shown on this layer, especially in more urban areas. Likewise, there are roads shown in rural areas would not be shown as an arterial in the urban area. These rural roads are shown to "fill in" the data layer in outlying areas.
Description: Regional street network with geocodable addresses. Each street segment has all address components for address matching. Streets are categorized by type for cartographic purposes. The streets and address range information is used by 911 centers for dispatch information. Since the accuracy of this information is important for emergency dispatch, they provide updates on a regular basis. Virtually every street in the region is in this data layer.
Description: These contours were extracted from 2 foot contours. The 2 foot contours were generated primarily from a 2014 LiDAR-based DEM dataset acquired by Oregon Metro. Historical LiDAR-based DEM data were used to augment the 2014 DEM as necessary to provide complete coverage for the Tualatin Watershed. The general contour generation process was: 1) Apply evenly weighted 5x5 smoothing to DEM via convolution function 2) Generate contours from smoothed DEM using gdal_contour utility 3) Split contours into 1000 ft segments 4) Remove contours with circumference less than 100 ft 5) Build geometry and attribute indices.
